Poly-America, L.P., leading plastics manufacturer, is currently hiring a Safety Assistant to join our team.  Poly-America produces several lines of polyethylene products including high quality trash bags, construction films, and agricultural films. 

• Performs administrative duties for the safety group
• Maintain MSDS database and library
• Distribute monthly safety talks
• Maintains document inventory for safety training classes
• Issue safety supplies and maintain appropriate records
• Data entry using MS Excel and AS-400
• Additional duties as become necessary and/or are assigned by management

• Proficient knowledge of MS Office software and applications
• Experience in an industrial safety department preferred
• Ability to work independently and complete work with minimal supervision
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in written form.
• Ability to establish and maintain professional and effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, managers, and other departments.

Successfully passing a drug screen is required for this position.
